Jack Cafferty Is Simply Nuts
Hugh Hewitt reports that CNN's Jack Cafferty just handed out this positively insane statement.
The last time we got a tape from Osama bin Laden was right before the 2004 presidential election. Now here we are four days away from hearings starting in Washington into the wire tapping of America's telephones without bothering to get a court order or a warrant, and up pops another tape from Osama bin Laden. Coincidence? Who knows.
So, what precisely is Mr. Cafferty insinuating here? Is he offering up the idea that somehow bin Laden is working with the "evil" Bush Administration to take the focus off of these utterly retarded hearings? Will he next move onto Helen Thomas' unhinged conspiracy theory that we have bin Laden in custody, and he is lounging around some office somewhere, possibly to be choppered out to an innocuous looking mountain range to make a videotape? Is he going to offer up some theory that Karl Rove writes bin Laden's speeches for him?
This man is a loon. But it does not stop there. He also read the following e-mail on the air:
Mike writes "I don't think the new tape is important at all. Osama is trying to put something out to make himself look important. He's not really the al Qaeda leader anymore. He's a lot like the Queen of England, just a figurehead."
They actually look a little alike, too.
Diane, in Tampa Florida: "It seems suspicious. Every time the Republicans get into trouble, bin Laden sends a tape. Is it possible bin Laden is working out of the White House?"
Hugh Hewitt has a term for people like Jack Cafferty and Diane in Tampa. He calls them "nutters" (a term, BTW, that Thomas has picked up on lately). Come to think of it, I am left to wonder if Ed Henry might have had a hand in this piece. For those that missed the evisceration my other half handed Ed Henry, scroll down. It is a long post, but well worth it.
One thing is certain. When it comes to the MSM, they come up with more conspiratorial ideas than the KosKiddies ever could.
The Bunny ;)
