Troops Tricked At Gitmo: NEWS FLASH--Even The Detained STILL Want Us Dead

This story is popping up all over, but Michelle Malkin and Charles Johnson ran this story to ground late yesterday.

Ten Guantanamo prisoners lured U.S. guards into a cell with a staged suicide attempt, then attacked them with light fixtures, fan blades and other improvised weapons while guards fired rubber balls and used a grenade launcher to subdue them, U.S. officials said on Friday.

The officials called Thursday's clash the most intense outbreak of violence at the jail for foreign terrorism suspects at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, since it opened in January 2002.

Six prisoners were treated for "minor injuries" and none of the U.S. guards was seriously hurt after the fight pitting 10 inmates against 10 U.S. guards, the officials said. The fight ended only after guards blasted detainees five times with a 12 gauge shotgun shooting rubber balls and used a grenade launcher that shot a blunt rubber object, officials said.

While guards were putting down the fight, detainees in nearby cells began rioting, destroying cameras used to monitor them, fans, florescent lights and other property, officials said.

Here's the news flash to the Left: Detained or not, our enemy still wants to kill us.

And the UN wants Gitmo closed down? I think not. Imagine if this had happened here in the US; would the prison guards have been able to quell this outbreak? I ask because of the incident that occurred in Arizona where two prisoners were able to take guards hostage in an attempt to "negotiate" a transfer to other prisons. The stand-off lasted over two weeks--the longest in US history. Could our prison guards have been able to stop this attack? And here's a better question: What if they had gotten loose?

This is one of the reasons why we have Gitmo, and why these barbaric humans are kept there under the guard of the US Marines. They can't accomplish this sort of an attack down there, and expect to succeed. Up here, it would be like shooting fish in a barrel.
