The UNC Jihadi Speaks

Ed Cone points out that the UNC jihadist, Mohammed Taheri-Azar (the one who tried to run down attending students at UNC in March) has decided to speak out. Ed has the links to the letters he sent to the Daily Tar Heel newspaper. But here are some highlights for our readers:

"I was aiming to follow in the footsteps of one of my role-models, Muhammad Atta."

"People who fight in the cause of Allah are not guilty if and when they have no intention of killing more persons among their enemies than their enemies have killed among the Believers."

Ed also states the following:

Taheri-Azar says he was justified in trying to kill "American taxpayers" who fund the killing of "Believers in Allah."

Yes, here is another believer in the "Religion of Peace," that feels justified in an attempted murder of innocent people. The students he tried to run down were not in the military. They were not even a threat to him. They were going about their business in The Pit--studying, talking with friends, passing time until their next class--when this maniac took the biggest SUV he could rent, and tried to run them over. Remember the call he made to turn himself in?

Dispatcher: I know you said the reason you did this is in a note, but can you tell me why you did this?

Taheri-azar: It was really to punish the government of the United States for their actions around the world.

Does punishing the government include trying to kill innocent civilians? To the RoP it does. This was the same man, who after exiting the courtroom from one of his first hearings stated for the press that he was "thankful for the opportunity to spread the will of Allah." Then, when asked if he was trying to kill people, he said "yes."

He is as crazy as Moussaoui, and has done nothing less than what Moussaoui did. He took his a step further (the attempted murder of about a dozen people), and should face no less a punishment. These letters are chilling (and all in slow-loading pdfs), and show that this man literally was just as determined to do this as the 9/11 hijackers were determined to kill 3000 innocent people.

If that is the case (which it appears to be so) then let us get his trial over with, and give Moussaoui a new roomie. He might be lonely for the next seventy-nine years.
