Has This Man Missed The Memo?
John Kerry is back in the news. Not by my doing, nor Thomas’, but through the New York Times today. This man—the "esteemed junior senator" from Massuchusetts—stil has not received the memo as to how irrelevant he is. Not only to the nation, but also to his own party. Oooo...that has to hurt. (Hat-tip to Ed Morrissey at Captain’s Quarters)

More than an ordinary senator, less than a presidential nominee, Mr. Kerry is a politician betwixt and between. He has more than $8 million in the bank and an e-mail list of three million supporters, yet must still prove himself to fellow Democrats, keeping his presidential prospects alive even as he insists it is too soon to talk about 2008.
Mr. Kerry has made children's health care his signature issue; his stop in St. Paul was part of a national four-city swing this week to highlight his "Kids First" plan, which would provide coverage to 11 million uninsured children, a central theme of his presidential campaign.
He is expanding his political organization and wooing other Democrats, through the time-tested method of political courtship - money.
He has given more than $3 million to various Democratic campaign committees, and on Friday night he held a fund-raiser in Boston for the 2006 re-election campaign of the woman widely regarded as his major rival for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination: Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York.
"We've been friends and colleagues for a long time," Senator Clinton said on Thursday in a telephone interview from New York, adding, "I'm so pleased that he would do this for me."
Whoops. Is it not a little late to be working on one’s image? And Hillary ((GAG)) speaking highly of such a loser? Please. She sounds like she is defending her philandering, ly8ing husband. Pardon the emotion, but I am female, and my husband had better hope I never catch him cheating; the police will need a squeegee and a bucket to collect the body when I am done with it.
But back to the loser, does he really think the party will change it’s mind? They did not do so in 2004, and nominate Al Gore again. They nominated him because he was the best...pardon me, LOL...hope for them to regain the White House then. In 2008, it is a whole new ballgame. And honestly, until Kerry signs his Form 180, and releases his military record to the public, he is "damaged goods". That is not a good sign to be a nominee.
Does he think that the blogosphere and the Swift Vets have just ridden off into the sunset? We have not. We are still here. And we are still quite prepared to deal with him. There is just far too many questions regarding his service and his record that require a level of scrutiny. Until that primary criteria is met, there can be no debate. Kerry could lose to a monkey with two brain cells right now.
Kerry stating he is preparing for another run is a disaster to the Democrats, and it further shows that they have not learned from the lessons of their past defeats. Here is the final memo I will send to them:
You stink on national security.
You cannot be trusted with classified intelligence. (A point Sen. Kerry pointed out in the first debate by revealing the new nuclear weapons we are developing...That and Alger Hiss. Sorry, low blow.)
You desire the opportunity to raise taxes on anyone you deem is not paying enough, which is the equivalent to the entire middle-class and "rich" people.
You do not stand for this nation, as your consistent attacks on President Bush over the war have proven.
You are obstructionists, at heart, to those that you oppose ideologically.
You claim to believe in the rule of law, but you embrace the rule of fiat.
The current Democratic party represents the elitist snob intellectuals that think the unwashed masses should be seen and not heard from. It really is too bad we have such a say, and it REALLY is too bad those snobs do not listen. If they did, this country might be in far better shape than the one they have continued to perpetuate; much to the nation’s dismay.

Kerry has been a part of the Kennedy clan since childhood. His behavior during the presidential election was shameful. I hope that he loses his senate seat, but I'm not holding my breath.
Jen,
I, too, am not holding my breath when it comes to Kerry, but the writing is on the wall for him. The Democrats do not go back to past losers for nominees. Besides, the underlying issue that will hurt him the most is his inability to address the questions raised about his service.
The Democrats will not go back to him, and they will not go back to Gore. They may think that their hopes lie in Hillary, but that, too, is a mistake. If she runs, I do not think she will make it through the primaries. The bloggers are ready for her.
Marcie
He's not hurting anyone. I wish people would stop kicking him while he's down.
It's a long time to 2008. He'll figure out by then that he shouldn't run again. And just maybe he'll share his war chest and e-mail list with the lucky nominee...
