Art Reflecting Life

Everyone who visits here knows the cartoon above well. It’s called "Day By Day", and it’s done by an exceptional political cartoonist/pundit (I use "pundit" because of his message) named Chris Muir. Marcie and I loved seeing his cartoons on Captain’s Quarters everyday that we decided to take up the offer of putting his site—free—on our site. We are the generous sort, and as we enjoy a good laugh, it was a mutual arrangement that just couldn’t be denied.
(Day-By-Day Cartoon of 6 Jun. 2005--Click on the link above and check Chris's archives.)

But as I stated, Chris Muir is an excellent pundit. From time to time "Damon" is required to slap us in the face, ans the immortal Bill Murray movie "Scrooged" taught us. And he does exactly that today. Look at that cartoon and understand that every time sources in the MSM grab onto a story or a statement from organizations like Amnesty International, they are working to undermine this country’s effort at a time fo war.

The media can’t get over it’s distaste and hatred of the military. This bile has been lying dormant in their throats since the end of the Vietnam War—a war in which they contributed to the end of it by helping in the demoralization of the homefront. By consistently showing nothing but the bad side of the war, more and more people turned against the effort. That is showing now, and though it is slow and gradual, it’s regrettable, nonetheless.

Gitmo isn;t a gulag. Everyone that is a regular reader will agree with that. Marcie and I have painted a stark contrast between Gitmo and a gulag. We are detaining people caught on the side of the enemy in combat, or those assisting the enemy during a time of war. Do I care that they may "suffer" some discomfort? No, I don’t. Honestly, I could give a rat’s ass less. A little discomfort is worth it, thank you; I’m still smarting from 11 Sept., and we’re at war. To Hell with the enemy.

And that goes for groups like Amnesty International that is willing to accuse this nation of running a "gulag" in Cuba, when Cuba under Castro has a couple of it’s own. Kim Jong-Il has over 300,000 North Koreans in his gulags as a slave labor force. China has it’s own gulags too. Where is Amnesty International for those countries? Out to lunch, usually with their blood-thirsty leaders. Much like the UN, and their recognition of terrorists as national leaders, like Yassir Arafat.

But this is the sort of garbage that Amnesty International stands for, and whom they represent. Pardon us for wanting to spread freedom and democracy in a region that can’t even really comprehend either idea. Pardon us for wanting to secure ourselves from lunatic madmen that desire our destruction. Pardon us for wanting to live, free of any tyranny. I guess Amnesty International won’t be satisfied until they see many ina America thrown into gulags for their radical ideas. I’m sure I’ll be one of the first confined to solitary, and I doubt I’ll be given a Bible and a Rosary like the detainees at Gitmo get Korans and prayer rugs.

Point being is organizations like Amnesty International don’t care about human rights around the world. They care about ripping up America and it’s leaders no matter what they do, unless they come across someone who shares their ideology. Wonderful. Let me get Bubba on the phone. They always liked the great, inactive one better anyway.

The time has come to send a message to organizations like this that they’re not welcome here in America. Their opinions—unless backed up by hard-core facts—aren’t welcome here. Give me an hour, a computer, and my mind, and I’ll crush any argument that these fools have, and they can go back with Howard Dean, John McCain, and the rest of the kids in the sandbox, and let the adults talk.

They have no facts to prove their allegations. They’re no better than the Left in the Senate holding up judges and Bolton. They’re petty tantrum throwers, and like a child throwing a tantrum they should be ignored, and remembered for what they are: anti-American, anti-Freedom, and anti-Democracy. And anything but a "friend" to this nation, or even a worthwhile watchdog.
