Steely Resolve
Today the world witnessed another example of the tenacity of our enemy. With close to forty dead, and almost seven hundred injured, the British people—under the masterful leadership of Tony Blair—sent a clear and concise response to the animals that struck.
They will not waver. They will not wilt. The battle is commenced; join the fray or get out of the way.
The cowardly animals showed intelligence, but they show no imagination. Maybe they cannot adapt their playbook (sounds like the Left, does it not?), or maybe WE—the untied coalition led by the USA—are making a difference. This is a disputed fact, but in defense I offer a few points:
1) The terrorists in Iraq are attacking civilians; the last desperate act, as one should not attack and subjugate those their propaganda states they are there as "liberators" from American imperialism.
2) This bombing in London was significant, but the toll is not what the terrorists expected, I am sure, but it is what they can muster.
3) They can only muster this because they are otherwise engaged on all other fronts.
I will grant people that I am young, and my experience in some areas is not refined, but I can only gleam facts from the situations presented. We should also remember this: Today could have been worse had the terrorists had a WMD. Much worse. We might have seen a death toll in the hundreds, or possibly thousands. We know that the countries that possess such weapons—Syria, Iran, North Korea, China, etc.—have no compunction selling such weapons to terrorists. Look at the evidence uncovered in Iraq with Hussein’s ties to North Korea and Libya.
The overall goal transcends the basic philosophy shared by the Islamo-fascists making these attacks. People said that bin Laden would never work with Hussein because Hussein did not share the same ideology that bin Laden did. I contend only this: The enemy of my enemy is my friend. That was evident as far back as 1992 when Iraqi officials stated that bin Laden was considered an "asset" of Iraq. But according to the Left, nothing bad ever happened in Iraq until we went in.
Personally, I am sick of the Left in this nation trying to undermine the war effort. This is this generation’s "Vietnam." I am sure they are enticed by their parent’s recollection of this sort of anti-social behavior, but the rest of the clear-thinking, common-sense people are pretty sick of it. This is not right-wing. This is not left-wing. This is what is right and proper. You stand up for the troops. You support this nation during a time of war. Or, honestly, shut the hell up. We—America—is tired of the lies. We are tired of the distortion. We are tired of the slanderous attacks on our troops. I you cannot support the efforts, shut up.
England knows what this means. It has been over sixty years since Hitler’s blitz over London. It has been that long since a serious attack was mounted on England. Sure, you had the IRA nuts taking their shots, but this was a coordinated attack made by an enemy that seems to be anywhere and everywhere. That is not paranoia; that is a simple fact. These people seed themselves within society, and wait for their time to move. It is "guerilla warfare" taken to a whole new level. Instead of quick surgical, and devastating, strikes, they plan for the ultimate hit. Something to produce a serious reaction, and a high body count.
Airplanes, for the most part, are locked out. An al-Qaeda cell in upstate New York was nailed when they tried to buy Stinger missile systems off of a federal agent. A stinger system is not something easy to sneak into the country, so they are not aiming for a display like that. Well, they are, but it is not easy to get them, and smuggle them in. No one in their right mind would attempt to buy them for resale to private citizens in the US. So, I can rule that idea out. We are watching such things.
Point being, this overtly "secretive administration", according to Al Franken, is doing its best to prevent another attack. Anyone notice that we have not had an attack since Sept. 11th? We are either doing a really good job, or we are stupid/lucky in the most incredible ways. I am of the camp that the people in charge are doing their jobs, and stopping these sorts of things from happening. I have little faith in our government—as it currently stands—but I have faith in this: They know as much as I do, in that, if something serious goes down, they a re likely to be dead, and they just cannot afford unemployment in Heaven.
Yes, the Left is doing its absolute best to undermine this war, but incidents like today in London only reinforces the resolve of the people that understand what is going on. If the terrorists would just stop their stupid attacks, the Left in this nation, and in the world (Italy, perhaps), would hand them victory. They would sell out their mothers to get that headline, or that sound-bite. Sorry if that seems "general" in nature, but a spade is a spade, the Left will still us, and the war effort, out in the long run.

Atrocities like this only make the conservative viewpoint stronger and the liberals look weaker. Very insightful post.
