Wonderful; Two Nuts In One Month
It was bad enough that the State Department allowed Mohammed Khatami entrance into the United States to preach his propoganda. Today I learned that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is coming to New York to speak to the United Nations General Assembly on the 19th of this month:
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad repeating his previous remark that "those who reject debate fear their nation's intellect and rationalism", emphasized here on Wednesday, "We are ready for a debate with the Americans at UN General Assembly." According to the Presidential Office Media Department, Ahmadinejad made the comments at Wednesday session of his cabinet, further reiterating, "The American side can even take part in the debate side by side with his advisors, and as a full team, if they wish so." Referring to his upcoming US visit to take part at the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York, The IRI President considered that occasion as a good opportunity for holding a debate, with his US counterpart, so that "the entire world nations, particularly the Americans would, directly and without any censorship watch it."
He stressed, "The reputable news media of the world -- those of them that respect truthfulness and abide by the rule of objectivity in heir profession -- can take advantage of that opportunity to provide chance for world nations to hear the viewpoints and to choose the best."
Frankly, I could care less about watching this piece of tripe. I have seen better soap operas, I am sure. But I question why he is being allowed to visit the United Nations. To me, this shows that there is no teeth left at the United Nations.
President Ahmadinejad is facing sanctions over his refusal to end his enrichment program. Enough evidence exists to show that Iran was definitely involved in the recent dust-up between Israel and Hezbollah. And this man is going to be allowed to speak there? It makes me sick.
And just wait. I am sure that, once again, he will brag as to how "captivating" he was to the dignitaries there, just like the last time when no one blinked for a half hour, or so, and he was surrounded by a golden light. What this nut needs to be surrounded by is a straight-jacket.
And no, we have no vacancies at this asylum; we are full up.
