More "Good News" The MSM missed.
We always hear the bad from Iraq and the front lines in the GWOT. We rarely hear the good news, and if the MSM does manage to find a piece of good news (Yes, I am sure they just cannot find ANY good news whatsoever; funny how bloggers can) they usually twist it with their bias.
But on a random landing at one of our usually visited sites this afternoon, I followed a link to ArmyTimes.com, which had the following story. (Hat-tip: LGF)
Soldier survives attack; captures, medically treats sniper
During a routine patrol in Baghdad June 2, Army Pfc. Stephen Tschiderer, a medic, was shot in the chest by an enemy sniper, hiding in a van just 75 yards away. The incident was filmed by the insurgents.
Tschiderer, with E Troop, 101st "Saber" Cavalry Division, attached to 3rd Battalion, 156th Infantry Regiment, 256th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, was knocked to the ground from the impact, but he popped right back up, took cover and located the enemy’s position.
After tracking down the now-wounded sniper with a team from B Company, 4th Battalion, 1st Iraqi Army Brigade, Tschiderer secured the terrorist with a pair of handcuffs and gave medical aid to the terrorist who’d tried to kill him just minutes before.
Damn our Pol Pot thug soldiers for tending to a wounded enemy. That is just not acceptable. I am sure Sen. Durbin will condemn this soldier for doing his job. Yes, I am irritated. Not at the soldier in the field, or even of the terrorists. No, I am irritated at the fifth column in this nation that are doing anything and everything they can to sabotage this war.
They attack the president and the administration on a daily basis. Whether it is the MSM distorting facts, and lying about the state of the war and the nations we have liberated, or senators savagely attacking the administration and the troops on the ground, the fifth column is hard at work. And it generally will bring harm to our troops. It does so on the propaganda front, and it could do so in the field. But the reason this fifth column is doing what it is doing here in America is to demoralize this nation, a la Vietnam.
This is Vietnam to the Left and to the MSM, all over again. At least they are trying to characterize it that way, but despite the legions of Lefties and moonbats, America is still focused. They realize what is at stake. Not only our security, but the security of our allies’ security, as well. So, we fight. We fight a group of people still stuck in the Seventh Century that feels that the world they live in—full of oppression and bloodshed—is the way the world as a whole should be. So, the animals in the field are doing everything they can to stop us, and they have willing minions in the country that are doing everything they can to help.
Back to the soldier, below are two links. The first is to where I saw the video. The second is the full report from the 256th Brigade Combat Team.

Great video link.
I wish that soldier had gotten up and put one right down the sniper's scope.
