An Interesting Concept...
HT: Rush

-----I------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I-----

See the line above? Can anyone understand where I’m about to go here with this? Good.

For those that don’t get this, let me explain. On the left (how appropriate) imagine the word "treason" below the hash mark. On the right, imagine the word "patriotism."

We are a nation at war. We’ve been at war since 11 September. That’s when nineteen hijackers took four planes, and turned them into cruise missiles killing almost 3000 people. For three weeks, this nation stood united. Then, things began to unravel, and very quickly.

The MSM were the first ones to launch salvos at the Bush administration, and they wanted to know–as Hillary famously exclaimed from the floor of the Senate–"What did the president know, and when did he know it?" Questions arose, and eventually a commission was convened to examine if this nation could have avoided the tragedy of 11 September. It was concluded, as all hindsight is, that had we paid closer attention, that the answer was "yes."

Needless to say, the Left has maintained a constant and staggering attack on the administration; so much so that the last election putting the president back into the Oval Office was within 4,000,000 votes. To many that may seem like a lot. For someone like me, that ain’t much. That’s still a close election, and the attacks continue. Rep. John Murtha recently stated it was time to cut our losses, and withdraw troops from Iraq. Murtha, Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton, Rangel, Dayton, Schumer, etc., have all expressed ideas that many Americans claim borders on treason. Some say they’re just wrong-headed, and encourage patience and civil debate.

To those people I state simply: I am being civil, but even I can recognize a law being broken. According to USC 18, Section 2381, treason is defined as such:

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Now, consider the statements of the people I listed, and others. Are these people "adhering" to our enemies? Are they giving them a form of "aid and comfort?" If they are, then a charge of treason is in order. And they have, in my opinion, because our enemies see what they're doing. They see the antiwar nuts protesting. And I'm sure that deep down inside they KNOW they're helping the enemy against our troops. This gives the enemy propoganda. This is something that can be used against our forces should they ever be captured, just as much as it was during Vietnam. Make no mistake, the Left has pulled down the Vietnam playbook from the shelf, dusted it off, and is using it to it's fullest potential.

I’m not doing this to be difficult, but to emphasize a point. We have people in Washington, DC trying to undermine our efforts in this war. Recalling the troops at such a crucial time in this war would be disastrous. As disastrous, I might add, as it was when we retreated from Somalia. We would be seen as a paper tiger, by the world, once more, and we would only invite further violence. It was that "isolationist, non-aggressive" stance that hurt us on 11 Sept. We can ill afford a return to that sort of policy.

We must destroy this enemy here and now. The troops know why they’re in Iraq and Afghanistan. We’ve won both fronts in this war and we’re now just securing the peace, and protecting two fledgling nations in their bid to continue their freedom; freedom won through blood, sweat, and tears, literally. And it's not just the "2000+" US troops involved in that. There are countless others that have died in this war, in this phase, over the course of the last couple of years; Hell, it's been worse on the innocents in Iraq over the last few months as THEY have become the targets of the insurgency.

The treason from the Left is more than evident. The problem is too many people still want to play the go-along, get-along game with them, and not call a spade a spade. These people claim that they are for America, but I don’t like the view of America they have. Every time they move to do something in DC shows that they have little regard for the original blood, sweat, and tears shed for the founding of this nation. They’re not wrong; they’re the enemy. Ideologically, definitely, and like the animals in Iraq, they too need to be defeated.

And we have been doing it. We’ve been doing it at the ballot box. The president has been doing it in his judicial nominees (save one). And Congress is still doing it in it’s support of the troops, with a little help from the majority of America. But it needs to continue. We’re entering an election cycle that could make or break the future of America. We can’t afford to drop our guard down. When it comes time for the election, remember to call a spade a spade. Remember who has stood for America. For some, they may just be wrong. For us at the Asylum, these people are traitors, and I don’t vote or support those that stand opposed to the ideals I hold. I answer to the Constitution, not to them, or their misguided ideology.

Want more treason? How about congressmen in Mass. and NY making deals with Hugo Chavez to have cheap oil dumped in their regions to 'help the poor'?
