Unhinged, Indeed...

FINALLY! Booksellers in Arizona finally located their stock of books, and I have in my possession a book that I’ve been wanting since I first heard of it’s impending release from Capt. Ed of Captain’s Quarters. It’s Michelle Malkin’s new work called "UNHINGED: Exposing Liberals Gone Wild." I knew this book was going to be good, and not just in the normal sense as she is an outstanding writer; her talents matched only by her beauty.

On the front cover, we are treated to a hilarious caricature of a donkey doing his best Howlin’ Mad Howard Dean impression, and on the back side we are treated to the true vitriol of the Left as Michelle put up real quotes from people who have attacked her. And they’re not nice, to say the least. They range from insulting her looks (a typical trait of the Left), to calling her a fascist (another usual insult tossed by those on the Left), to going after her heritage (she is of Asian descent–Vietnamese if memory serves me correctly). These are just examples of how truly nasty the Left can be, which reminds me of a point that Ann Coulter made years ago in her prose "Slander": If we remove the insults from a debate, liberals will finally shut up because they’ll have nothing to offer.

From the get-go, Michelle’s book brings us up to speed on some of the loonier aspects of the Left, including the following paragraphs:

"Many private citizens are emboldened by the shields of presumed anonymity and invincibility bestowed by the Internet. And many Democrat officials are bolstered by the smug knowledge that their sympathizers in the mainstream media will not hold them accountable for their actions. Liberal racists, for example, who insist that Hispanics, blacks, and other minorities "betray" their skin color if they don’t embrace liberalism, almost always get a pass."

"Like the hideous creature in the movie "Alien," gestating in the stomach of a seemingly benign human host, the unhinged liberal feeds off of the illusion of normalcy until he can no longer tolerate his artificial confines. This book is a forensic examination of the extraterrestrial creature exploding from the Democrat Party’s gut. Like any good horror movie, it’s scary and silly at the same time. You cover your eyes, but you can’t help gawking through the cracks between your fingers at the nightmarish scenes of haywire leftists on the loose."

"Actually the unhinged liberal phenomenon isn’t entirely novel. The Left’s hatred of President Bush today is not all that different from it’s hatred of President Reagan a quarter-century ago (although Helen Thomas was somehow able to keep her anti-Republican suicidal thoughts to herself during the 1980s). And just as there are tinfoil-hat-wearers today who claim that President Bush engineered the September 11th terrorist attacks, there were crackpots two decades ago who asserted that AIDS was cooked up by government scientists."

"What is new is how readily these crazy ideas are now accepted by the highest echelons of the Democrat Party and liberal establishment. And with the advent of the Internet as the engine for political activism, the radical left’s attack dog politics have only been accelerated in momentum and maximized in volume. The scariest part is, these Internet crazies aren’t just riding along in the Democrat bus—they’re driving it."

That’s just a taste of what awaits you if you decide to get this book. I got it yesterday (finally) and I had it finished in a matter of hours, complete with so many highlighted passages, I eventually killed my highlighter. She has so many spot-on points about how the Democrat Party has finally gone over the edge. Like the hilarious Coyote in the Warner Bros. Cartoons holding onto the little daisy to keep himself from falling off the cliff, it’s the epitome of the Left today.

They are so full of hate, and spite, and vitriol that they can’t see straight. And this may be why they keep losing at the ballot box. They have no ideas. At least nothing that will truly benefit this nation. They’re ideas are old, outdated, and America is hostile to them. A prime example of recent stupidity erupted from the Ninth "Circus" Court this past week when they ruled that parents couldn’t be the sole purveyor of "sex education" to children; in essence, that the schools have a right to teach their kids about sex.

Every time idiocy like this comes from the Left, it, and they, alienate America further. There is no solid division in this country. This is a conservative nation at it’s heart. Reagan proved it with two electoral landslides that have never been equaled since. America likes it’s morals, it’s values, it’s rights, and it’s liberties. We despise those who try to take them. And we further abhor those that try to take them using hysterical rationale that would leave most people scratching their heads over the logic.

But the Left uses this sort of behavior to control debates. They divide, and attempt to conquer, but have been wholly unsuccessful in the last decade. And much of it comes from the fact that when we see outbursts from the likes of Howlin’ Mad Howie, Michael Moore, Eason Jordan, or Markos Zuniga (the DailyKos moonbat leader), America’s not pleased. Sure, they may find some amusement in it, but they’d never put loonies like this in office. Martin Sheen can pretend he’s the "real" president on TV all he wants, but he’d be the last guy I’d want to see there.

So, if you like Michelle Malkin like I do, and want a humorous, yet serious read, I encourage you to buy this book. If you’re not the type to buy a lot of books, get it from your local library. It is a thorough, in-depth investigation into liberalism today, and why they’re just plain nuts.
