Welcome to the Asylum. This is a site devoted to politics and current events in America, and around the globe. MoveOn Lied? Say It Ain't So, Mummy...

(I am posting this here to let readers know that I have a posting that is below this one. Thomas specifically requested that this post remain on top of the page all day. Scroll down for mine, as I am commenting on another snafu of incredible proportions from the judiciary.)

Mistress Pundit

Before I get into the MoveOn.org ad that they ran, and have subsequently pulled, I'd like to let everyone know about a change here at the site. Our usual post entitled "Passing Thoughts Through Life's Rearview Mirros" is on full display at the link below. We submitted to this site as a column, and with any luck, it will be picked up as a regular feature there. This is the one column Marcie and I look forward to each and every month. So, if you like the column, and you like the conservative magazine we may be writing for on a regular basis, e-mail the editor, and tell him what you think. The round-up this month deals with the Woodward revelation, French riots, the Democrats still screaming about pre-war intelligence, and their complete lack of attention to the CIA leaking like a silve all over the place. So, read it. Read them all. These are good writers on this site. Marcie and I have been published here before. This is the first time our co-authored piece has been published there. I do hope this turns into a regular column for us.

Now, onto MoveOn.org (or, as I saw yesterday on a T-shirt, Moron.org).

The first link will take you to the news story that I'm going to cite from below. The second link will take you to Michelle's site where she has a much larger photo of the incriminating scene that caused MoveOn,org, after the outrage raised over it, to pull the ad. The CNS News site has has a series of still frame photos that are lifted from the ad, which takes a nasty swipe at the administration AND they're doing exactly what John Kerry said his party wasn't doing yesterday. He said that no one is asking for a withdrawal on his side of the fence. The voice over on the ad specifically states the following:

"The president misled America to send them in, and now has no plan to get them out."
"The Democrats in Congress are leading the way home."

The liberal political group MoveOn.org has yanked a video ad from its website after being criticized for using images of British soldiers to represent Americans in Iraq.

The 30-second ad, which also began running on CNN and cable stations during the Thanksgiving weekend, stated that "150,000 American men and women are stuck in Iraq" this holiday season.

But the ad showed soldiers who were "not wearing U.S. uniforms," according to a Pentagon spokesman who was interviewed by Cybercast News Service Wednesday, approximately two hours before the Internet version of the ad was pulled from the MoveOn.org website.

"Some folks won't be home this holiday season," the 30-second spot declared before showing a video pan of a group of soldiers getting military rations. The narrator then stated that "150,000 American men and women are stuck in Iraq."

The uniforms are what tripped them up, and a couple other things about the photo. First, to the uniforms. That may look like US desert camo from a distance, but it's not. It's British. Second, if you look at that photo, the soldier in the foreground is wearing shorts, which the US military doesn't endorse as a part of the uniform. At least, not those type of shorts. Anyone who's been in the military knows the running shorts the military uses, and that isn't them. As a matter of fact, below is an E-mail from a reader of Michelle's site. He was none too happy with the "Moron.org" monkeys. (Added emphasis, mine.)

I just got back from my third deployment from Iraq on Friday, and I happened to be at the dentist and saw a completely offensive ad from the idiots at MoveOn.org this morning. Anyway, it is a Bush-bashing ad that pretends to be arguing for American soldiers families as they will miss the holidays and it shows turkey and crying wives and blames Bush for it all. Here is the crucial part of the ad that I would like to bring to your attention. As they pretend to argue on my behalf, they show a group of soldiers standing around a table in the Middle East...These are not your normal everyday U.S. soldiers though. If you look at the frame they are actually British soldiers. One is in shorts (we don't have shorts as a normal combat uniform) and the others are all clearly wearing British pattern fatigues. So, my point is that these [turkeys] pretend to argue on my behalf and bash the president in the name of my crying wife, and they don't even know what an American soldier looks like! Anyway, it really [ticked] me off.

What is even sneakier about this (and you'll see this when you scroll down on Michelle's link) is that MoveOn.org photoshopped the picture on it's website! That's right. They ran the ad on TV with the image you see on Michelle's site, but when the image went to their website, the added pants to the soldier wearing shorts. They KNEW they were going toget nailed, and they tried to cover their butts up.

The simple fact of the matter is this: When we see ads like this, we have to question why the moonbats don't stop drinking the Kool-Aid, and walk away. Are they really that stupid that they're stuck there? ("Don't get stuck on stupid!" TY Maj. Gen. Honore.) This clearly shows, and rightly so, that these people don't care about our troops. They don't care about their families left here to cope. All these turkeys care about is another stupid liberal handing over money for their candidates that couldn't win with God's help. (Anyone remember their last big loser, Howard Dean?) This whole fiasco is a big black eye for MoveOn.org, and they deserve it. They lied, ladies and gentlemen. I'm wondering why anyone gives these losers any attention at all. With the amount of times they've been nailed by bloggers and the alternative media, it's a wonder how they're still in business. The DailyKos Kiddies must be sending them everything from cash to food stamps to keep this worthless organization afloat. Maybe they have the Al Franken hook-up with an NPO that is propping them up, too. (Of course, without the NPO's direct knowledge.)

It's time to send a message to low-lifes likethe moonbats as MoveOn.org. If you're a Democrat--be it classic or modern-day frothing liberal--don't send these idiots anymore money. Give it to the candidates that you want to. MoveOn probably wouldn't even hand it over to the candidate. They'll use it for another bogus ad attacking the administration, and lying about the troops in Iraq. There are two words, after looking at this debacle, that comes to mind when I think about MoveOn.org.

Pitiful and pathetic.
