Alito Awaits His Ascension
Judge Samuel Alito has passed from the Judiciary Committee today, as I predicted earlier. We knew that the vote would come down along party lines, and it did. He moves on 10-8. Now comes the fun.
California Yankee is running an early tally. (HT: Confirm Them.) They also note that the Wall Street Journal also has a running tally.
I'm still holding onto my prediction: 79-21. If you take what the Yank has, I have three floaters left to fill that side. If you take the Journal's tally, I've got seven "no's" to go. Either way this vote is cut--whether I'm right or wrong--Sam Alito will join the court at the beginning of February. I do hope the Left enjoyed this excursion into testing a highly-qualified judicial nominee that spanked them silly. One would have thought they would have learned their lesson in Chief Justice John G. Roberts. I guess not.
Well, due to their folly, and their inability to do anything to show that Judge Alito was unqualified, but wholly showed America that they--themselves--were unqualified, I do hope that the title of Justice will stick in their craw, and serve as a reminder that the rules apply to both sides. Republican presidents get their nominees just as Democrat presidents get theirs. So, here's to "Justice" Alito for a job well done in his career, against the Democrat murder board on the committee, and to the rest of your career on the highest court in the nation.

Goodness! 79 votes for! I hope that you are right.
Leaky Leahy and Reid are a disgrace. I stand by my prediction of 70. Rawriter.
