The Terrorists Are Accomplishing Their Goals ...
No, no. No one get upset over the above statement. I am not referring to them winning against the United States and her coalition partners, but rather with the media. Indeed, we have pointed to Michelle Malkin and others regarding this story. Muslims are offended at a number of cartoons that have circulated in European papers. Up until now, it was the Euro-press that capitulated. However tonight we have confirmation that the US media is also bowing before them.
The international storm over cartoon drawings of the Prophet Mohammad published in European media gathered pace across the Islamic world Thursday with angry demonstrations and the shutting down of the EU office in Gaza City.
In Paris, the daily newspaper France Soir fired its managing editor after it republished the caricatures Wednesday, and in Pakistan protesters marched chanting "Death to Denmark" and "Death to France."
Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan was quoted as saying the cartoons -- one depicting the founder of Islam wearing a turban resembling a bomb --showed press freedom should have its limits.
Muslims consider it sacrilegious to produce a likeness of the Prophet Mohammad. CNN has chosen to not show the cartoons in respect for Islam.
Hat-Tip: Michelle Malkin.
This omission is not out of respect. It is out of fear. The news stories are out there about Muslims protesting in anger over this. These are militant thugs that demand respect for their religion, but have none for it themselves. Hypocrites, all, and ones in which we would question whether or not they're the "militant" wing of the Democratic Party, much like Hamas has it's militant wing.
Just kidding (or am I), but we refuse to bow down to these people, so why is the media doing it? This move by the MSM could be the final nails in their coffin. Bloggers are not intimidated in this way, and news sources willing to fight are not intimidated. But CNN, and even NBC, are. This below comes from an e-mailer to Michelle Malkin:
Just when I thought NBC might have had a moment of clarity (HA! Yeah, right!), I heard them tease a story on this for the Nightly News tonight. In the middle of the segment, the dropped the ball completely, refusing to show the cartoons! They made some weak statement about how they decided against airing the images out of respect for Muslims.
Again, out of respect. No, that is a lie and the news execs know that. It is out of fear. Why is it that networks and news sources can bash Christians, and refuse to back down when we stand up and call them on it? NBC was the notorious outlet to put together the ill-fated "Book of Daniel" which featured a pill-popping clergyman, his alcoholic wife, a promiscuous daughter, and drug-dealing son all on the premise that not everybody's life is great, and even those in the church has problems. Well, no kidding. Thank you NBC for pointing out human failings, but you do not need to be making shows like this. Maybe that is why it was cancelled; grass-roots America told NBC where it could stick it's bashing series.
Christians are disdained, mocked, and even berated but God forbid (or should it be Allah forbid, in the case of the networks) that they show these cartoons. I have news for the news stations. Had you actually paid attention to the citizen journalists out there, you would have seen that we already uncovered Islamic hypocrisy on the subject of depictions of Mohammed. Jen has linked to these stories, and she has even included LGF in her links as those following this controversy. In addition, Zombie has an image archive of depictions of Mohammed.
The hypocrisy of the Muslims does not wash with me, or this site. To the Muslims upset I say shut up; this nation will not kneel before your violent form of Islam, nor will those with courage run for the shadows when you gnash your teeth. DEAL with how the world sees the fanatics you REFUSE to control or condemn. Until you tend to the problems in your house, expect to be beat on by the press and those with opinions.
The Bunny ;)
ADDENDUM: And Look at what we have here. Why it's a blog, less than a month old, devoted to images of Mohammed. And another MSM story about the "offense" felt by the Muslims, and the cartoons they are enraged over. BUT the Dallas paper opted NOT to print the cartoons. MSM=0; Islam=5. Good job, guys!
Meanwhile Secular Blasphemy received a death threat over his coverage of this issue. (Good; something I can look forward to.)
And I know my better half enjoyed pounding on the NY Times today. This, I know will bring her a sadistic smile tomorrow.
And Michelle Malkin points to the above, and this glaring fact for the Islamicists; it is Technorati's top subject post as of 11 p.m. EST. Technorati's tag on their site now reflects to buy Danish. Do it. The Danes aren't back down.
And Pajamas Media picked up on Gateway Pundit when he exposed that some of the cartoons were made by Muslims in an attempt to incite outrage.
