KeeBee Rounds

Every once in a while I like touching on our fellow KeeBees (101st Fighting Keyboardists) across the blogosphere. They usually have interesting stories that are often overlooked by the "big guns," and some can be quite hilarious.

Blue Crab Boulevard is talking about "unheeded warnings" with regard to Senator Reid:

I have said all along that the Democrats were not given a mandate to lose a war. Regardless of what the poll numbers show on a theoretical question, Americans do not like to lose. Schoen is trying to get that point across to Reid and Pelosi. But it does not appear to be getting through. Reid had to backpedal - hard - on his "this war is lost" comment. And he still does not get it.

Yes, Gaius is quite correct. The Democrats seem to have forgotten that they were handed power because the public refused to support Republicans after their disastrous two years of feckless behavior.

Over at The Pirates Cove the talk is about a vote of no confidence regarding the Border Patrol's Chief David V. Aguilar. His front line people are not happy with him, or the fact that he seems to be pishing an agenda of "turn a blind eye" to those violating US law by illegally slipping over our borders. Also cited is a story about Gavin Newsome blatant refusal to abide by US law by granting illegal aliens "sanctuary" in San Francisco. I agree with the Pirates: Suspend any federal money going to San Francisco until they comply with the laws on the books.

Texas Fred's has a story about the Democrat Governor of Oregon -- Ted Kulongoski. He and his wife are going on a "food stamp" diet to bring attention to the plight of the poor. For one week, they will spend only as much money as the average food stamp recipient receives. While I am sure the move will garner him fawning profiles in the local papers, and might even get him a soundbite on a talking head show, the act is utterly nonsensical. Food stamps and welfare should be for temporary measures -- in the event of an emergency only -- NOT a way of life. All too often those on welfare see it as a chance to sit on their butts all day, and let hard-working taxpayers (like Thomas and I) pay for their life of luxury. What an @$$.

And Chicagoray rounds out today by pointing out the idiocy of another person who should just shut up and sing. It seems that Sheryl Crow -- that bastion of liberal intellect -- has a way for us to sayve the planet. (Bear in mind this story is making it's way around the blogosphere, and she is rightly being pummeled for this stupidity):

I have spent the better part of this tour trying to come up with easy ways for us all to become a part of the solution to global warming. Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating.

One of my favorites is in the area of forest conservation which we heavily rely on for oxygen. I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting. Now, I don't want to rob any law-abiding American of his or her God-given rights, but I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where 2 to 3 could be required."

Ray's response? LOL, as expected, and I concur wholeheartedly:

That idea should save the world! I hope she washes her hands a lot after her bathroom visits as they must be covered with what her head seems to be filled with.

LOL. Now we know the reason why Lance left her.
