CPAC On The Bloggers' Radar

The talented Mary Katherine Ham, guest-blogger extraordinaire at Hugh Hewitt's site, is blogging the CPAC in DC. Keep checking back for updates from Ms. Ham. And check out her round-robin of links, including the anti-Chafee blog that is sending ripples through the besieged senator's base in Rhode Island.

What I would like to address is the latest from Ms. Ham. It involves the comments made by Bob Barr and George Will. This comes from Tim Chapman.

George Will mentioned potential improprieties on behalf of the Administration in his morning speech...Now, former Congressman Bob Barr is taking it a step further. Addressing the CPAC crowd, Barr makes it clear that conservatives should be going after the President for "not following the rule of law."

Barr's speech, in some parts, sounds as if it could be given by Dick Durbin on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

This appears to be an issue that is percolating here...

To Mr. Barr, I say you should be ashamed of yourself for using a Democrat talking point to score points. As an attorney, you should know the president is well within the law, and is thoroughly backed upby court precedents. George Will is known for taking his swipes at the administration, so his comments go without saying. He is not a lawyer, and may not be up to speed on all of the legalities surrounding the president's powers, and how far they go. Bob Barr has always been a pain in the rear.

It is just seriously irritating when two conservatives decide to throw their hats in with the Democrats in criticizing the president over the NSA intercept program.

Further, I am a little disappointed that they both refuse to hold the New York Times up to the scrutiny due for the crime they committed. Thomas was very clear in his post (linked above) in agreeing with Mr. Schoenfeld on the fact that the New York Times did blow the cover of this program. It was classified, and in doing so they exposed it to our enemies.

Shame, same on both men for not maintaining a level of intellectual honesty.

The Bunny ;)
