Al-Qaeda Is Losing, But Don't Try To Tell The Left That
Yesterday, Marcie put up a post that was featured prominantly by Captain Ed.
It's a release by CENTCOM of al Qaeda documents recovered in Iraq. Things aren't going well for them obver there, but don't try to tell the Left this. They're not listening to it. They have been hyping a quagmire and our defeat since we put the first set of boots on the ground, but the documents don't lie. For example, take this paragraph from the report:
It has been proven that the Shiites have a power and influence in Baghdad that cannot be taken lightly, particularly when the power of the Ministries of Interior and Defense is given to them, compared with the power of the mujahidin in Baghdad. During a military confrontation, they will be in a better position because they represent the power of the state along with the power of the popular militias. Most of the mujahidin power lies in surprise attacks (hit and run) or setting up explosive charges and booby traps. This is a different matter than a battle with organized forces that possess machinery and suitable communications networks. Thus, what is fixed in the minds of the Shiite and Sunni population is that the Shiites are stronger in Baghdad and closer to controlling it while the mujahidin (who represent the backbone of the Sunni people) are not considered more than a daily annoyance to the Shiite government. The only power the mujahidin have is what they have already demonstrated in hunting down drifted patrols and taking sniper shots at those patrol members who stray far from their patrols, or planting booby traps among the citizens and hiding among them in the hope that the explosions will injure an American or members of the government. In other words, these activities could be understood as hitting the scared and the hiding ones, which is an image that requires a concerted effort to change, as well as Allah’s wisdom.
Yeah, they're big, bad, and bold when it comes to jumping someone, or launching a cowardly suicide bombing, but they can't stand up to the Iraqi troops we've trained (clearly, the above paragraph shows that they fear the Shi'ites), nor can they handle us. This is why, I think, Zarqawi made a decision to change up his tactics. (BTW, this story was also picked up by Captain Ed. The decision represents what has been hammered home by the center-right bloggers and the administration.
We are winning the war. At this point, Zarqawi's gang of thugs can't afford to meet us head-on, and using suicide attacks aren't dealing the damage where it needs to be dealt. They're not affecting the military forces over there, or the Iraqi security forces. Everytime they nail coalition troops, it just ticks the troops off even more. (I really do fear for Zarqawi. His inability to handle a firearm properly, mixed with simple stupidity in terms of strategy and tactics may net him the same end result that Uday and Qasay experienced.) After the last mocking he received, I'm surprised the New York Times hasn't come out to pooh-pooh the CENTCOM report as "disinformation" or "administration propoganda."
Nothing could be further from the truth. His lines are broken. Communication with his brethren elsewhere in the world is difficult at best, and many times his couriers have been intercepted by US and coalition forces. The message is always the same:
"Send money; send fighters; send something but give me a hand here. We're losing this fight."
Ah, music to my ears. The only thing that would be better is for Team 145 to catch him, and parade him around in disgrace; breaking that last bit of morale the terrorists have. Granted, I don't think they'll drop their arms at that time, but they will once the hammer drops on them. (If people think Zarqawi won't sing like a canary to our interrogators, think again. I'm sure we have something special lined up for him.)
But again, the Left doesn't want to hear it. They think that people, as a whole, are stupid, and will simply buy their rhetoric. Nevermind the fact that they couldn't be more wrong. That's irrelevant. They've peddled this lie the same way Dan Rather tried to pass off those phony memos. And they plan on riding it into the 2006 and 2008 elections. Wouldn't it be a shame if Zarqawi was nailed just before the md-terms?
Of course, I'm sure the MSM will drag good ol' Madeline "Half-Wit" Albright out of mothballs to state something similar to her statement made, and picked up by James Lakely of the Washington Times:
"Do you suppose," she asked, "that the Bush administration has Osama bin Laden hidden away somewhere and will bring him out before the election?"
Classically unhinged, as usual. But I won't doubt the conspiracy theorists will be running at full steam should something like that happen. Of course, they'll never pay attention to the fact that we are hunting the little SOB. I'm sure that the Left, when we catch Zarqawi, will float the theory we've had him all along.
Yep, and that theory belongs in the same place the "Darth Rove," "The Faked moon landing," and the "Jews blew up the WTC on 11 September" are. It's called the trash because the theories don't wash. They never will. And the Left is just going to keep deluding itself over the defeat in Iraq that isn't coming.

Special Note: Captain Ed noted yesterday that the blogroll for the 101st is now over 300 members (and that we're thoroughly irritating The Kos-man himself; that makes this all the more fun, and well worth the efforts put into each post), and the blogroll continues to grow. Unfortunately, I've yet to figure out how to install the damned code on our site. The code in question is in this post from Captain Ed. Needless to say, I'm fairly HTML illiterate. SO, if any Blogger.com members of the 101st have any suggestions as to where I can put this bloody code into our template so the blogroll will show, it will be greatly appreciated. (And yes, I've followed his instructions, and removed the bracket. When I insert it into the template, it's not working. Either I'm missing a piece of the code, or I'm putting it in the wrong place.)
Please, anyone who can help, you can e-mail Marcie or I at TheAsylumPrime@aol.com. Thank you very much for any and all help in this matter. (If I have to put the links in one-byone as I have been doing, my fingers are already groaning.)
