Valerie Plame Files A Lawsuit: Who Is Her Lawyer, And How Stupid Is He?

Joe Wilson's pretty p***ed. He didn't get a "frog-marched" Karl Rove. He didn't get President Bush or Vice President Cheney. Hell, he didn't even get one iota of respect from anyone on our side of the aisle. But damn it, he's going to remind everyone that he thinks he's somebody. And he's saying that all from behind his wife's skirt because she's the one with the nutty lawsuit against Vice President Cheney and Co.

(HT: Captain Ed)

The CIA officer whose identity was leaked to reporters sued Vice President Dick Cheney, his former top aide and presidential adviser Karl Rove on Thursday, accusing them and other White House officials of conspiring to destroy her career.

In a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court, Valerie Plame and her husband, Joseph Wilson, a former U.S. ambassador, accused Cheney, Rove and I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby of revealing Plame's CIA identity in seeking revenge against Wilson for criticizing the Bush administration's motives in Iraq. ...

The lawsuit accuses Cheney, Libby, Rove and 10 unnamed administration officials or political operatives of putting the Wilsons and their children's lives at risk by exposing Plame.

"This lawsuit concerns the intentional and malicious exposure by senior officials of the federal government of ... (Plame), whose job it was to gather intelligence to make the nation safer and who risked her life for her country," the Wilsons' lawyers said in the lawsuit.

Captain Ed takes this exactly where I would go with this because there are questions involved in this particular issue. Let's face it, only the Left has no questions. They had the dark triumvirate in the Oval Office tried, convicted, and hung right after Joe Wilson uttered his ill-chosen "frog-march" comment:

For those who think that the Wilsons still have any credibility left, please see my omnibus post on the various efforts by Joe Wilson to obfuscate the truth until put under oath by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

Undoubtedly, this lawsuit will founder on the same shoals -- and it will give us a splendid opportunity to ask Plame under threat of perjury the following questions:

1. How did Joe Wilson get this assignment?

2. Why didn't the CIA have him sign the standard agreement to keep his findings confidential?

3. Whjy didn't the CIA correct the record when Wilson leaked and then wrote himself false information about his findings?

Let's put Plame on the stand and really get to the heart of what she hoped to accomplish by promoting her husband for this task. I'd bet the lawsuit gets dropped in a New York minute -- and if not, the record of Wilson's prevarications should easily sink it.

I couldn't agree more. Valerie Plame wasn't covert. She carried out no clandestine operations for the CIA. She was a low-level analyst who offered up her husband, based on some fancy talk and his resume (I'm making a supposition here), that he should be the "go-to" guy for the Niger visit. It's either that or those in the CIA who disliked Bush sent him over because he wasn't too fond of Bush. (I'm apt to buy the former than the latter; there are no Kossack links on this site.)

But yes, I wholeheartedly welcome this lawsuit. She's got a lot of 'splaining to do, and I, for one (I'm sure there are thousands more out there) want to see her under oath, on the stand, and testifying about the who, what, where, when, and why. She's going to be exposed if she goes that route, and it's not going to look good. As a matter of fact, if I were The Kos, I'd suggest they drop this suit before the moonbat fringe takes a shot that knocks them out. They have hinged oh so much on this issue, and it's about to blow up in their face just as quickly as Beirut airport did today in Hezbollah's face.

Isn't it? One has to wonder HOWhe could have possibly gotten that operation? One would have thought if his wife were that into WMDs and that covert that the CIA would've chosen her, huh?
