Friday KeeBee Round-Up
I did this yesterday. I try to focus on our fellow KeeBees as often as I possibly can. But when there is little time inthe day, and a whole heck of a lot of news, those minor ideas--giving credit to other bloggers where it is rightly due--falls between the cracks. I am hoping to set aside a post a couple times in the week to highliught these other exceptional bloggers. They desire traffic at their sites as much as Thomas and I do with ours. And like us, many of these bloggers are small fish in the blogosphere. Do not be afraid to check these people out. They are very good at what they do.
Texas Fred starts us off with two reminders of the war between Israel and Hezbollah. The first one is an AP report about Israel being given the green light to head into Lebanon with their ground forces. The second AP report deals with the cease-fire agreement that the United States and France have been working on. Personally speaking, I think the world needs to shut the heck up, and let Israel do the world a favor by removing a longtime terrorist organization fromthe face of the planet. The negotiations on the cease-fire should be hammered out by Israel and Lebanon, not a bunch of diplomats that are sipping wine, and eating goat-cheese pizza at Turtle Bay.

Abdul at Freedom's Zone finally posts up a piece he had written in July. Basically, he shares the same opinion that many do when it comes to supporting Israel. Let them do their job, and get rid of Hezbollah. (The idea of a parking lot should appeal to some in Lebanon; with that much space available, they could entice Wal-Mart to set up shop there.)

MoneyMan at Neo Con Eagle's Wings has a nice caveat to yesterday's "Bojinka II" bust in Britain. He harkens back to a movie from the 80's called WarGames, and he points to the end of the movie where everyone is busy patting themselves onthe back while Joshua (the war-game computer in Crystal Palace) is still busying itself with preparations for a nuclear launch. MoneyMan is right to point out that while Britain, Pakistan, and the United States did an outstanding job of working together to avoid this attack, that there are stillelements who want us destroyed. He reminds Michael Chertoff that the fight is not over yet, and due diligence is still needed.

Meanwhile, Gawfer points to the ongoing battle between Diana Irey and Jack Murtha. Ms. Irey was quoted as saying:
"One week ago, Jack Murtha said he wanted an immediate cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah. He has said nothing since then to indicate he has rethought his position.
"So I have a question for him today: Jack, isn't it enough that you're demanding an AMERICAN surrender to terrorists in the Middle East? Must you demand an ISRAELI surrender, too?"
Ouch. That is going to leave a mark.

Sondra K at Knowledge Is Power (along with Mary Katherine Ham) make a discovery that should have Reuters beating a path to their door for the rights to the photo. Either this proves that Lebanese people were in Vietnam, or this woman is a freaking vampire who has been walking around for hundreds of years. ;)

Bit's Blog points to a USA Today story showing that Al Gore is not as "green" as he has been claiming. As a matter of fact, he is a veritable energy hog, and the tree-huggers are not likely to overlook the expansive homes he owns. Shame on you Al. Talk about a REAL "inconvenient truth."
* * *
Right Wing Rocker recounts his bout with insomina last night when he ended up in a comments debate with a member of the Left-wing moonbat patrol who just does not seem to get it. (Of course, getting "it" would entail that these people had a brain with which to fathom complex thoughts; a veritable impossibility as I am sure they have a problem with simple thoughts, like breathing.) Nonetheless, the RWR gave back twice as good as he took. You be the judge.

Sam Houston threw out some heat today and poll results showing that 57% of Americans WANT people PROFILED at airports. Imagine that? It must gall those on the Left that Americans would be willing to allow that to happen. I am one of those who believe that "profiling" is a PC-driven, cockamamie idea. However, it ceases to be "profiling" when you have a suspect description. At that point, you are looking for people who fit that description. Sam uses the photos of the 9/11 hijackers to push the point. By not paying an extra level of attention to those from the Middle East we are pretty much cutting off our nose to spite our face. Michelle Malkin has an excellent book on the subject, and it is one that should be read by everyone at DHS.

Dean Esmay talks about the supposed cease-fire deal to end the Israeli/Hezbollah war. And he has this to close his piece today:
As I've repeatedly pointed out, Iran is who Israel is actually at war with here, and they're going to promptly start resupplying Hizbollah (assuming they don't just decide eternal war in Israel and Lebanon is a better deal). At that point, the success of the agreement in securing a lasting peace rests on: the determination of the French to shoot at them rather than just look the other way.
God help us.
Of course, if that does happen it could go a long way toward isolating Iran's leaders, and fully delegitimizing Hizbollah. I'll cross my fingers and hope that Condi has somehow found a way to negotiate some spine into this peacekeeping force, but at this point I'm not optimistic.
Nor are we. Thomas and I have repeatedly stated, both on the sites and in our debates, that Israel should be allowed to deal with Hezbollah any way they see fit. If they feel the only way to deal with them is to annihilate them, or completely destroy their capacity to fight and lob rockets into Israel proper, then so be it. Kevin McCullough said it best:
My brother-in-law, soon to be Navy pilot bad boy killiing terrorists from the skies, asked me over the weekend my thoughts on Israel and the crisis.
My easy response was... ARM THEM TO THE TEETH and GET OF THEIR WAY.
Amen to that. And, as a side note Pirate Cove joins the chorus of those that do not think too much of this deal.

Monk at Vita ab Alto gives some thoughts on the primary races this past week, and wonders what the losses spell for the Democratrs this fall. On one hand, Joe Lieberman was defeated in favor of an antiwar Democrat who brings back memories of the Vietnam radicals, and how they did their best to destroy this nation's morale during that war. (Regardless of where one stands on the war, that was an ugly chapter in this nation's history where the antiwar people basically held the troops responsible for the incompetent actions of the politicians.) On the other hand, Cynthia McKinney lost her bid to Hank Johnson, who is basically another Joe Lieberman. Mixed signals on this one, but one that clearly shows two things:
First, it shows that this election's Democrat Party is standing firmly on an antiwar/bring the troops home platform, and as a prominent Democrat, Joe Lieberman stood in that platform's way. He was baggage" that the Demcorat leaders decided to jettison.
Second, Cynthia McKinney did not even merit a blip on the Democrat's radar at all. Either out of embarrassment of her recent and past actions (which I believe is why the voters tossed her) or that she, herself, has been wobbly on the war when the votes are counted matters not. She was left high and dry by the party. Both were, which should show Hank Johnson where he stands in the new Democrat Party.

And to conclude today's round-up, I finish up with The Uncooperative Blogger's about the Muslim leaders throwing a hissy fit over the president's comments yesterday. Yes, he finally identified those that we fight as "Islamic fascists," and to the so-called leaders of the RoP (Religion of Peace for the non-bloggers out there) I aks what else is he supposed to call them? The enemies of the United States right now are predominantly Muslim who practice a virulent strain of Islam, and they act with all the nuances of a "fascist." One only needs to research the socieites these people live in. Saudi Arabia, and its wahhabi clerics; Somalia, and the aftermath of the World Cup matches; Afghanistan, pre-United States invasion; Iran, with its internal security forces, and basiji muscle. These are some of the worst regimes in the world, and the strains of Islam most violent to the West were and still are practiced here.
So what is the president supposed to do? Embrace them? I am sorry that some Muslims are offended by his comments, but what he has said is true. And if they were not too busy defending these murderous, barbaric animals, they may see that the president correctly identified them.
