Guest Blogging: John Kerry Said What?
(Hat-tip: Michelle Malkin/Captain's Quarters)
Sen. John Kerry was on the Sunday morning snooze-fest of talk shows with Bob Schieffer. (I usually don't watch them because all too often I see journalists treating the guests with kid gloves.) And, I didn't see this, but Captain's Quarters got a transcript. On Pages 3 & 4, there is the following exchange between Kerry and Schieffer.
SCHIEFFER: All right. Let me shift to another point of view, and it comes from another Democrat, Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut. He takes a very different view. He says basically we should stay the course because, he says, real progress is being made. He said this is a war between 27 million Iraqis who want freedom and 10,000 terrorists. He says we're in a watershed transformation. What about that?
Sen. KERRY: Let me--I--first of all, there is so much more that unites Democrats than divides us. And Democrats have much more in common with each other than they do with George Bush's policy right now. Now Joe Lieberman, I believe, also voted for the resolution which said the president needs to make more clear what he's doing and set out benchmarks, and that the policy hasn't been working. We all believe him when you say, `Stay the course.' That's the president's policy, which hasn't been changing, which is a policy of failure. I don't agree with that. But I think what we need to do is recognize what we all agree on, which is you've got to begin to set benchmarks for accomplishment. You've got to begin to transfer authority to the Iraqis. And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the--of--the historical customs, religious customs. Whether you like it or not...
SCHIEFFER: Yeah.
Sen. KERRY: ...Iraqis should be doing that. And after all of these two and a half years, with all of the talk of 210,000 people trained, there just is no excuse for not transferring more of that authority.
I'd like to address Kerry's claim that US troops are terrorizing Iraqis. Where's the proof Senator? You can't play the Eason Jordan game of accuse and refuse to back it up. Either you back this up, or there's going to be a whole heap of trouble coming down on top of you. This is EXACTLY like his speech before the Fulbright Committee, only then he wasn't a sitting US Senator. Now he is. NOW he's accusing our troops of committing acts equal to that of the terrorists. Look at that quote above. He is calling our troops terrorists.
Now, we don't want a comment coming out of him that he was "taken out of context." We want an apology, and we want it now. ADMIT the mistake, and ISSUE a formal, public apology. Our troops are not over there terrorizing people. Our troops are welcomed and liked by the Iraqi people. They want us there. This has been proven time and time again. Are there a few who don't like us? Sure. I'm not saying the entire country likes us, but the majority do. Kerry's wrong on so many levels, and it shows just how anti-American he really is; how anti-American the extremists in his party really are. I know a lot of people will howl over that statement, but it's true.
Look at the statements made by the liberal intelligencia. They think we're bullies, that we're terrorists, and that we're occupying a foreign land all over oil. Well, where is that oil? I see gas prices dropping, but no company has announced a windfall delivery from Iraq, so where's the proof? There is none. Just like there was nothing to Eason Jordan's claims our troops were shooting, interrogating, torturing, or assassinating journalists. Just like there was next-to-no truth about Ted Kennedy accusing the troops of the atrocities of Saddam's thugs when he stated that Abu Ghraib was "under new management" similar to that of the old regime. It is attack, after attack, after attack against our troops by elected leaders sitting in office, or people connected to the MSM. And it's all because they have a hate-America-first mentality. If there is a drop in troop morale it's because these half-wits won't shut the hell up.
These men and women in harm's way put their butts on the line so the party of defeat can stand up and make these stupid statements. And these are statements, I might add, that they will never be called upon to answer for. No one is going to step up to Kerry and hold him accountable. Nope. No one in the press seems to care. No one in Washington is going to call him up and demand he apologize. When push comes to shove in this matter, the accountability calling falls to us. So, here's the deal.
On behalf of the Asylum, I'm calling for a swarm on Sen. Kerry. We ask for a public apology, and a retraction of that statement. It is reprehensible that ANY Senator be allowed to impugn and slander our troops. As a veteran himself, he ought to know better. Will we get this swarm? God only knows. Thus far, the only two elite sites that picked this up are Captain's Quarters and Michelle Malkin. Hopefully, this one will gain some traction in the blogosphere. Until it does, all I have to say is John Kerry's a piece of work. He still holds the same mentality he had back in 1971. I hope the people of Massachusetts "Daschle" him in 2008.

kerry (lower case k is intentional to show my utter disgust with this traitor) lied under oath before the senate committee and he intentional lies or flip flop now. He should be driven out of the senate. I don't see him reimbursing us, the tax payer, for his salary when he was campaigning. Hopefully he will feel the sting of a swarm. Rawriter
