Moonbats In Arizona: The Rarest Of Breeds
Hello, and TY very much for bearing with us during our time away. No applause for Sabrina; just throw money, and be sure to tip your waitresses well. And no, I'm not talking about sex or stock tips here.
Yes, we're back and well into the thick of things again. And isn't it so appropriate that we return to our home state of Arizona with a story regarding it's stupidly grotesque 11th September memorial? Michelle has the tale of the "tape" so to speak, and AllahPundit has the tape. But here's the key trascript 'graphs:
Some of the commissioners actually wanted to add 19 more characters to represent the deaths of the 19 terrorist murderers who killed the victims.
The commissioner interviewed, Paul Eppinger, defends it wholeheartedly, claiming that the inscription about "Middle East Violence Causes Attacks" reflects the "fact" that "our foreign policy for years has focused on total support of Israel."
Ex-squeeze me? Baking powder. WTF? It sounds like these morons were actually considering commemorating the deaths of those who CAUSED 11th September. Hello? Is thing on? What were these fools thinking? And of course Mr. Eppinger probably finds nothing wrong with this. Trust me, he probably thought it was a great idea, but some uppity member of the commission pointed out that some Americans and Arizonans would, more than likely, have a serious problem with that. And did anyone else note the last sentence regarding Israel? That sounds vaguely familiar. It sounds almost like an accusation from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. "If only we didn't support Israel, these blood-thirsty, murderous fascists would leave us alone." Yep. Have another sip of Kool-Aid there, Paul.
As if we didn't have a a serious problem with it already? And, of course Arizona's mnoonbat governor is still sticking by her story that she wasn't privy to what the memorial would actually include. Uh-huh. So, she's not just a dim-witted moonbat, but she's incompetent, as well. Such memorials on state land can't be erected without the governor's involvement. If she failed in that regard, it shows a level of ineptitude that most voters would recognize. It's called being an absentee landlord. But we've seen this over her six years in office.
Her consistent vetoes (a state record at 127 by the end of June this year) has shown her utter refusal to deal with the state legislature. She has been openly hostile towards the state legislature if they try to curtail education and welfare funding. And speaking of hostile, her and Attorney General Goddard dragged their feet on the implementation of Proposition 200--a voter-passed initiative on the 2004 ballot that would have cut all government aid and benefits off to illegal aliens, and forced polls to ask for identification when voting. She was absent during the pipeline break in July of 2003--white-water rafting whgile the state went through gas lines.
This isn't a one-time thing for her. Were that so, I might be able to forgive her for that. But I can't. And this commission, which she supposedly had no idea what they were designing, decided that it would be a good idea to "honor" the nineteen men who murdered 2996 innocent men and women. Someone's got some 'splaining to do, and they'd better do it quickly. If this continues to balloon, Governor Napolitano may have an uneasy election day. Of course, we here at The Asylum are hoping she'll be unemployed by November 8th.
