Update on the "Dix Six" -- Feds know the remaining four jihadis
Allah's got an answer about those other four, and he's right about the news source; that being, why aren't the MSM sources covering this the way CNS has?
The FBI knows the identity of four men who took part in jihadist training exercises in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains last year along with six others now under arrest for an alleged terrorist plot, but they have insufficient evidence to charge the four at this stage.
A DVD showing 10 radicals firing assault rifles and calling for jihad spurred the federal investigation that culminated in six arrests this week in connection with a planned terrorist attack on Fort Dix, N.J. But what about the other four?
"We know where they are and the investigation continues," Jerri Williams, a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, told Cybercast News Service. "However, at this time we do not have evidence that would link them directly to the [Fort Dix] plot. We are aware of their participation in the firearms training but the investigation to date does not provide us evidence to charge them."
Signed affidavits from the FBI indicate the agency has identified the "10 young men who appeared to be in their early twenties." According to those affidavits, the ten men videotaped themselves "shooting assault weapons at a firing range in a militia-like style while calling for jihad and shouting in Arabic 'Allah Akbar.'" The training exercise apparently took place on Jan. 3, 2006, in the mountains of north-eastern Pennsylvania. The FBI investigation began several weeks later, after a store clerk was asked to copy the training videotape to DVD. The clerk became suspicious and notified authorities.
"There's absolutely nothing illegal about being a radical ideologist," Williams said. "This is the United States, and our Constitution allows people to speak hateful thoughts. What they can't do is act on those thoughts."
OK, that solves that avenue of the mystery. The feds do know who they are, and more importantly, they know WHERE they are. Rest assured that if these four guys try to play "jihad" here in the nation, they're going to get nailed.
And, as for Allah's exit question ...
When does Ron Paul or Rick Ellensburg accuse the store clerk who reported the the DVD of having violated the six’s privacy rights?
The Constitution applies to citizens. As far as we know, only three of these people had a legal resident status here, and that doesn't translate to citizenship. So let the nutters cry all they want. It won't fly, and if they do make comments about this, they're dead wrong.
But I would like to reiterate that Congress needs to get a law passed that will protect such people, like this clerk, from any sort of repercussions. THEY, like htis clerk, will be the heroes this nation relies on in such circumstances. Call your Representative and Senators, and make your voice heard on this. Don't let the apologists and enablers of terrorism to win out over those that take a stanmd to stop them here.
