Guest Blogging: "Defeatocrats" On The March
Yes, I am still here while Thomas and Marcie attend to personal matters. So sorry if I am not a favorite of the readers. However, as Thomas states, "Bloggers blog everyday." So, here I am upkeeping the site.
Yesterday I commented on John Kerry's scurilous comments regarding our troops. For those that missed it, here's a recap:
Let me--I--first of all, there is so much more that unites Democrats than divides us. And Democrats have much more in common with each other than they do with George Bush's policy right now. Now Joe Lieberman, I believe, also voted for the resolution which said the president needs to make more clear what he's doing and set out benchmarks, and that the policy hasn't been working. We all believe him when you say, `Stay the course.' That's the president's policy, which hasn't been changing, which is a policy of failure. I don't agree with that. But I think what we need to do is recognize what we all agree on, which is you've got to begin to set benchmarks for accomplishment. You've got to begin to transfer authority to the Iraqis. And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the--of--the historical customs, religious customs. Whether you like it or not...
Yestyerday on WOIA in San Antonio, Howard Dean made the following statement in a phone interview:
"I've seen this before in my life. This is the same situation we had in Vietnam. Everybody then kept saying, 'just another year, just stay the course, we'll have a victory.' Well, we didn't have a victory, and this policy cost the lives of an additional 25,000 troops because we were too stubborn to recognize what was happening."
"I think we need a strategic redeployment over a period of two years. Bring the 80,000 National Guard and Reserve troops home immediately. They don't belong in a conflict like this anyway. We ought to have a redeployment to Afghanistan of 20,000 troops, we don't have enough troops to do the job there and its a place where we are welcome. And we need a force in the Middle East, not in Iraq but in a friendly neighboring country to fight Zarqawi, who came to Iraq after this invasion. We've got to get the target off the backs of American troops."
First, to Kerry. This man is a coward and a liar, and is the lowest form of life within the Democrat Party. I compared him to Eason Jordan, and I don't back off of that boast. He is accusing our troops of committing atrocities much like those he lied about during the 1971 Fulbright hearings. Our troops are doing no such thing. They're holding true to the course laid out by the president. The Democrats claim we have no plan, yet we seem to be following one, to the letter, and we're succeeding. Why else would the opposition party come out as strongly as they have against the president? Simply put, he's winning this war, and making them look stupid.
Now, to Howard Dean. He is echoing the same cut-and-run strategy the Democrats employ every time they've gotten into wars since the late 1960s. They have their Vietnam playbook out, and they're running the gamut; from demoralizing the nation to slandering our troops, these people have no scruples and no honor. Our troops are in harm's way, and despite their lies that they support the troops, they don't. We know it. We see it. Rep. John Murtha should be ashamed to call himself a Marine; Marines don't run from a fight. A Marine and his weapon are the worst possible nightmare for America's enemies. And we're their nightmare in Iraq right now.
These two buffoons have lied long enough, and done so at the expense of the memories of those fallen on the field of battle. It sickens me to see people like these two slandering the honor and integrity of our soldiers. And both should be ashamed of themselves. I still put forth the call that Kerry apologize, and retract that statement. As for Dean, let him rant. every common sense thinking American knows the guy is nuttier than a fruitcake, and is simply dragging his party down further into the depths of the sewer. These people don't want us to succeed. They want us to fail. They want us groveling at the feet of the world community. Sorry, America doesn't grovel for anyone.
And I'd like to add one more person to the list of the "Defeatocrats:" Sen. John McCain. McCain has decided to take it upon himself to creat anti-torture legislation, and has threatened to attach it to every piece of legislation going through the Senate until it's approved. This is a serious mistake, and one that could cost us dearly. If our enemies know we won't stoop to that level, there's nothing to force them to reveal what they know. And I know that McCain is saying that a "special circumstances" provision would be inserted to allow more forceful tactics against captured terrorists, but only if it's of vital national importance.
Uh-huh. And I'm going to trust McCain, why? This is the same man who hyped his campaign finance reform bill as the solution to "soft" money in election campaigns. Not only did it not stop such donations, but it curtailed our free political speech; speech that was inherently implied in the First Amendment. This is the same man who refuses to support drilling in ANWR, which is of vital importance to our national security. And when it comes to the borders, he and Sen. Kennedy are going to screw that up, as well, should their proposed legislation go through. It won't make us more secure. It will expand the holes already present at our northern and southern borders. Further, McCain wants to grant to our enemies the rights and privileges enumerated in the Constitution; rights which are reserved for citizens only.
More and more each day, I see our elected representatives doing things that undermine the security of this nation during a time of war, and irritates me to no end. Our enemies won't hesitate to hit us, and hit us hard should a door open for them. The more these fools dilly-dally and don't do their jobs, the more hell we're simply inviting.
The point of the matter is simple: These people I've pointed out don't get it. They don't understand what it takes to secure a nation against it's enemies, and win a war against it's enemies. We already knew that liberals couldn't be trusted with national security, and now we know that McCain can't be, either. These people prove it nearly every time they open their mouths to speak. They lie. They spin. They exaggerate. They don't want to say anything that will bolster America, but they have no compunction with emboldening our enemies. I won't call them traitors; that's partisan, hateful rhetoric, and quite difficult to prove. However I will say that they have sullied the offices they hold, spit upon the people they represent, and should be removed from any official capacity so long as this nation is at war.

Sabrina,
Another great post. And TY so much for keeping up the site in our absence.
All of your posts were good, straight, and to the point. You're definitely getting the hang of this.
Thomas
Good blog. I've said many times that intentionally giving aid and comfort to the enemy is a traitorous act that gets our troops wounded and killed. We are engaged in war with our way of life at stake. The bottom line in this war is Islam v Western civilization. Rawriter
