Saddam Tapes Update
Hugh Hewitt started his second hour off tonight with an interview with Stephen Hayes, the same guy who wrote the Weekly Standard piece that touched on this subject, and drilled John Negroponte for his culpability in delaying their release.
This is a brief update, and it centers around that interview. Stephen has stated that yes, a deal is in the works to release as many of the tapes and documents as possible. Those that are barred will be the ones deemed "classified" by the National Intelligence Director. He said this deal, as of right now, is confirmed by Negroponte and by Rep. Pete Hoekstra. I'll reserve my judgment when I see those documents revealed. In the meantime, to see what Project Harmony is all about--the document dump from Afghanistan, check out this index from Colonel Austin Bay. He has the lead on this, and the documents uncovered after our success there have given us a deeper insight to the workings of al Qaeda.
And for anyone truly interested in the rest of this Saddam tape story, keep an ear to the radio as Mark Jackson continues to fill in for Dennis Prager (check your local listings) because he stated that he'll be following this story will as many players as possible all week long. I know I'll be listening and following this up as often and quickly as I can.
