Jihadis Caught In Miami

The seven men described as "homegrown terrorists" were due in court Friday after being indicted and charged with conspiring with Al Qaeda to "levy war against the United States."
The men, arrested Thursday night in Miami in a raid by federal agents, are charged with trying to, among other thing, commit acts of violence that included blowing up Chicago's Sears Tower and an FBI building in Florida. Each count holds a punishment of 15 to 20 years in prison.
Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said Friday that the seven suspects were part of a group that sought to work with Al Qaeda but ended up conspiring instead with a law enforcement informant. These men were living and working in the cities they were planning on attacking, Gonzales said, just as the Madrid, London and Toronto bombers — or would-be bombers — were.
"They were persons who for whatever reason came to view their home country as the enemy," Gonzalez said.
The men were taken into custody Thursday when authorities swarmed a warehouse in the Liberty City area of Miami, removing a metal door with a blow torch.
These people are homegrown. They were plotting to go after not only the Sears Tower, but FBI offices in Florida and elsewhere. These men are no different than those recently caught in Canada looking to go after the Canadian security offices and Parliament. The whack-job, moonbat, extreme Left are sitting on the side just yawning at this report and these arrests. To them, it is nothing to be boisterous about. There was no "immediate" threat. And that is probably why WE have a problem with these people. If we wait until the threat is imminent, it will be too late.
Maybe it is me, and maybe it is the Left, but these people seem to think that in the nick of time a hero will pop up out of nowhere and stop these people. Here is a little hint for those ont he Left.

There will be no hero who rides to the rescue at the last second to kill or catch these guys. Our ability to stop our enemies comes from hard work, diligence, and eternal vigilance. It does not come from sitting on our hands and awaiting the next attack. Many on the other side would rather we do that, thinking that our enemies will leave us alone when we leave them alone. Our enemy does not believe that. They do not abide by that thought process.
We need to get them before they get us. Were these men really as dangerous as the 9/11 hijackers? Yes and no. Yes, they had the motive and intent to hit us, and they were deadly serious about doing so. They had scouted their targets, and despite the fact they did not know they were dealing with an undercover Justice official, they were asking for weapons, uniforms, and money to carry out their plan. And as Justice officials stated today, they were looking to commit an attack at least as devastating--if not more so--than 9/11. The "no" side of that question comes from the fact that Justice was aware of them, and working to break them up. We were on the ball.
But, then again, that goes back to what the president has stated before. We have to be correct 100% of the time against these people. They only have to be right once to really hurt this nation. If we remember that almost three thousand people were killed on 9/11 in three separate but equally ravaging attacks, what could have been the toll from the destruction--or attempted destruction--of the Sears Tower. Thomas hails from Chicago. He has been to the Sears Tower. When we saw this story late yesterday, he simply shook his head.
The area where the Sears Tower is at is in an area of Chicago where the death toll could have easily exceeded three thousand. Of course that it totally dependent on the day, and time of day, but it does not change the fact that they wanted to take it down. And we should remember that the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center might have failed to take down the building, but almost one thousand people were injured, and six people died. Now depending on what these animals were really planning for the Sears Tower, they may have accomplished that goal had we not been on our toes.
And we were only on our toes because of the efforts we have taken to seek these animals out in this nation. And the MSM might want to bear that in mind the next time they decide that blowing the lid off of covert programs the government is using to catch these people.
